Hebrew Words Translated

What Is The Greatest Commandment?

Messiah was asked "Which is the greatest Commandment"
He answered from what is called The Shema, Deut 6:4

The Words in The Shema were originally spoken by
Him, YHVH/Yahoshua and recorded by Moshe in the TORAH.

The Word Shema in itself is a Command to HEAR.

Together, the SHEMA, and His Name YHVH, as in

SHEMAYHVH is a Command to HEARYHVH.

שמעיהוה
SHEMAYHVH

שמע ישראל יהוה אלהינו יהוה אחד
ONE YHVH ELOHIM OUR YHVH YISRA'EL SHEMA
<.left to right from written is Hebrew<

Debarim 6:4-9, "Hear Israel, YHVH your Elohim, YHVH Is One! And you shall love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart, and all your being, and all your might. And these words which I am commanding to you today shall be in your heart, and you shall impress them upon your children, and shall speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lay down, and when you rise up, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.  And you shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates."

The Shema articulates a fundamental principle
which differetniates followers of יהוה from the pagan world
.
יהוה אחד - YHVH IS ONE.

The Command SHEMA, "HEAR," summons the follower to
attend
the compelling message that follows. This call to
attention is most
compelling, and ones hearing senses become
pertinent. In contrast to seeing which can lead us into idolatry, hearing leads to obedience. What we hear is the least dimensional and easiest to grasp. Without visual interference, our total attention can be concentrated on the specific wording. It is the least difficult of our senses to error. Hearing does not require another sense to influence the meaning.
It is the least of our senses to influence imagination and error. Abba YHVH speaks clearly, and impresses His Word to last a lifetime.  Hearing is the easiest sense to lead one into obedience.

The Name YHVH  pronounced 'YahVay' is the Hebrew Name our Creator gave to mankind, by which we would know Him. YHVH, Is the Name above all names and is The Personal Name of the One Who Created the Heavens and the Earth. YHVH the One Who spoke all things into existence, and sustains
them with the Word of His Power.  YHVH
is a personal El and seeks a personal relationship
with each of usHe is our strength and our refuge and calls us all by name.  In Shemot 3:13-15 Exodus, Moshe (Moses) asked, When they say, "What is His Name, what shall I say to them?"
Abba YHVH first taught Moshe the meaning of His Name.

And יהוה אלהים said to Moshe,
"EHEYEH ASHER EHEYEH,

אהיה אשר אהיה

There are at least three meanings here.

1.) I AM THAT I AM. I AM THE EVER EXISTING ONE.
There are none above Me nor beside Me, None before
Me nor after Me. I Am Thee I AM.

2.) I WILL BE WHATEVER I WILL BE.

3.) I WILL BE FOR YOU WHAT YOU NEED ME TO BE.

I AM, certainly means forever existing.

I Will Be, He put on the flesh for us and became
our Yashua - YHVH Is my Salvation.

I Will Be for you what you need Me to be,
And we needed Him to be Our atonement.
Yahoshua - YHVH Is my Salvation Completed.

YHVH taught Moshe the complete
plan of salvation in His Name.

Then YHVH gave His Name to Moshe saying,

"Thus you shall say to the people of Yisra'el,
EHEYEH
(I WILL BE) has sent Me to

you." And Elohim further said to Moshe, "Thus you are to say to the children of Yisra'el, יהוה Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Avraham, The Elohim of Yitshaq, and the Elohim of Ya'aqov, has sent Me to you. THIS IS MY NAME FOREVER, AND THIS IS THE WAY YOU ARE MENTION ME THROUGHOUT YOUR GENERATIONS."

'YAH' the first syllable in יהוה is the short poetic form of His Name, as in "Hallalu Yah," praise be to YAH.
'Eloah' has the basic meaning of mighty one. Elohim, its plural form literally means Mighty Ones.
יהוה Elohim, by personal name, sets apart which Mighty One.

The word choice Moshe made in the Shema is the singular form, as opposed to Sham'u, it's plural. Moshe spoke to the entire people of Yisra'el as One People, and not as a mass of people.

ShemaYHVH - שמעיהוה (a single word) is a call
to all as one people, Hear the Word of YHVH -
יהוה
and render due reverence to His Name.

There is one objective reality in the Shema.
יהוה is One. ShemaYHVH likewise focuses on The One Who

Speaks into existence, creation both temporal and eternal. YHVH ECHAD, One Creator-Savior, Set Apart from the plurality of paganism.

The last letter of the words Shema and Echad are enlarged in the Herbrew Shema. The Ayin ע is enlarged to distinguish it from the Alef א which sounding the same would change its
meaning from Shema -שמע to perhaps - שמא or maybe.
The Daled
ד is enlarged to distinguish it from the Resh ר.

If these two look alike letters were to be confused
here, the meaning of ECHAD
אחד
would change
from ONE, to other
אחר or another.

The Precept of YHVH ECHAD is widely misunderstood.

This precious precept sets aside any doubt, that our
Creator is ONE, and only ONE. In The Shema it
becomes clear that HE
Is ONE, not several. We
do not have to think of which Mighty One, at
what time, or where to look. No one is hiding.

Abba YHVH
יהוה is accessible to all.

When we take the Ayin and Daled together,
spelled
אדי we have the Hebrew word for witness.

Yeshayahu 43:10-11 testifies. Atem 'Ed'ai - אתם אדי
Atem (Alef-Tav-Mem), Edai (Ayin-Daled-Yud), Atem 'Ed'ai,   "You are My witnesses," declares יהוה , "And understand that I Am He.  Before Me there was no El formed, nor after Me therw is none.  I, I AMיהוה   AND

BESIDES ME THERE IS NO SAVIOR."

There are many Scriptures that testify in first person,
YHVH Himself testifying that He is One.  His Name is the beginning of Wisdom.  This is where Wisdom begins.
